Jessie E Turner has been writing poetry since she was in the fifth grade. She published her first book of original poetry in 1980: Silhouettes of Thought. She is the author of a young adult fantasy novel, Moon in the Day Sky (which will be coming out soon as an eBook), and a nonfiction book, Is Anybody Buried in the Cellar? It answers questions children asked about Oregon’s Aurora Colony in the 1800s.
Jessie and her sister, Abby, have been writing music together since they were teenagers. They have an album to their credit. Hello Sunshine was their first song, composed in the kitchen while doing dishes.
Jessie loves playing with her grandchildren making videos or creating doll house scenes. The most recent is a Scottish Castle. She got a ribbon for the castle at the Portland Miniature Show!
Her husband, Larry, is her greatest fan. He calls Jessie his “famous author wife.”

My Own Castle
Here I am at the Portland Miniature Show. I earned a green ribbon for my Scottish Castle. I am wearing my Maxwell Tartan Scarf. Stuart Fellowes made the little Caerlaverock Castle in the front.
